Just thought I'd point out that Mr Beardsmore did not take kindly to the use of this template. I don't really like it either :) --002 (talk) 04:30, 11 July 2015 (CEST)

Essentially, anyone who believes sufficiently strongly in this template must accept the responsibility of applying it to the entire wiki and ensuring that it gets applied to all new pages as they get created. Since no-one is prepared to do this, having it used on a few pages creates senseless inconsistency. Certainly, applying some markup to keyboard keys may help deal with the issue of how keyboard key references make sentence flow difficult, but it's clear that nobody feels strongly enough about it to take it on. I marked it as deprecated due to the points Daniel expressed in the template's talk page where I'm afraid he was spot on. In particular, the point of the template is to use it everywhere in an article where keys are referenced, and that would indeed create major visual disruption. --Tactica (talk) 08:44, 11 January 2018 (CET)
