SwitchCaptain is an American retailer of mechanical keyboards and custom peripherals. The company is known for providing direct market place access to name brand switches. The company was started by keyboard enthusiasts who were frustrated by the poor logistics in the industry <ref name="MassDrama"/> , feuding companies <ref name="InputClub vs Drop"/>, fly-by-night vendors, inconsistent customer experience, and miss-representing vendors <ref name="KBDFans Stealio Controversy"/>. The company deliberately does not offer group-buys, products are only sold if in stock. SwitchCaptains re-tests all switches in the US and packages them before being offered for sale.
Qualities[edit | edit source]
Authentic Switches[edit | edit source]
SwitchCaptain is known to decline purchasing through resellers and other middle-persons. All items are purchased direct from the manufacturers.
Authentication[edit | edit source]
SwitchCaptain introduced in 2021 the industry's first authentication system with every item classified with a unique serial number for customers to validate authenticity. The serial number is traceable to the exact factory and batch number due to SwitchCaptain's direct partnerships.
Partnerships[edit | edit source]
SwitchCaptain is a partner of manufacturers such as Kailh, Gateron, Durock, Cherry, Outemu, TecSee, TTC, and others.
Marketplaces[edit | edit source]
SwitchCaptain products are available direct and on Amazon Prime, NewEgg, Walmart, Mercari, Google Shopping, and Etsy.
