Mitsumi KKR Type is an unconfirmed progressive rate Mitsumi hybrid switch type; the tactile equivalent is Mitsumi KKQ Type. KKR Type also covers stock keyboards and full custom OEM products made with these switches.
Description[edit | edit source]
KKR Type is externally identical to the better-known Mitsumi KPR Type; where KPR type uses a single membrane sheet for the keyboard matrix, KKR type uses a PCB. No specifications for KKR Type have been recovered.
It appears that the primary advantage of KKR Type over KPR Type is that the use of a PCB permits diodes, for N-key rollover; this can be seen in the Toshiba J31TP002 numeric keypad.<ref name="rzwv" /> However, as KKR-E99AC does not use diodes, this appears to be an optional feature.
