Mitsumi KGL Type is a scissor switch type and custom keyboard series.
Description[edit | edit source]
The 2000 datasheet gives the total height as 5.8 mm, and full travel as 2.8 mm. The scissor mechanism is depicted using only a very simplistic diagram. Key pitch is given as 16.5 to 19.05 mm.
A revised 2003 datasheet covers a "NewKGL" design, illustrated in more detail. Here, the total height was surprisingly increased by 0.3 mm to 6.1 mm, and full travel was increased by 0.2 mm to 3.0 mm. A second switch design is included, for smaller keys (such as cursor keys and function keys): these have only half the lifetime (5 M instead of 10 M) and only 2.5 mm of travel, but still the full 6.1 mm height. Full-size keys have 19.05 mm pitch, while smaller keys can have a pitch between 14.2 and 16.2 mm.
