Description[edit | edit source]
This keyboard is part of the MUPID (Multipurpose Universal Programmable Intelligent Decoder) BTX terminal computer offered in Austria by MCG, which was held by a consortium where Siemens Austria was the big IT industry partner. The MUPID was meant for offices and living rooms where you have carpets and could use protection from another danger: electrostatic discharge.
Notice the white protective switch covers which may have been added by MCG. Since these white switch covers resemble the Siemens STB covers, it’s not unlikely that Siemens made them, not RAFI. These covers are glued to the switch housing and are quite intricate to remove. The doubleshot keycaps are not re-mountable with the covers in place.
