Arrow or pointer[edit | edit source]

Wait cursor[edit | edit source]

The wait cursor indicates that the current program, or the whole system, is busy and cannot accept input.

Hand cursor[edit | edit source]

The "hand" cursor indicates that the item beneath the cursor is a hyperlink.

Simulating the shadow in Photoshop[edit | edit source]

To precisely simulate the Windows XP/2000 shadow in Adobe Photoshop, apply a shadow with the following properties<ref>Telcontar.net – 32-bit Windows cursor images</ref> (tested in Photoshop 7):

  • Colour: black
  • Blend mode: multiply
  • Opacity: 32%
  • Angle: 151–170°
  • Distance: 3 px
  • Spread: 0%
  • Size: 3 px
  • Contour: linear, non-antialiased
