Alps spring over membrane is a provisional name for an Alps membrane switch using discrete plate-mounted switches with Alps mount sliders. Each switch module contains two helical springs: a return spring for the slider, and a downward-facing contact spring that applies pressure to the membrane. The latter is likely to permit mid-travel actuation.
The switch is probably linear or progressive rate, and non-clicky.
It appears that Alps moulded spring over membrane was the reduced cost successor.
