==== Bugs ==== The USB converter does reportedly not work with some Windows 7 and USB 3.0 - sometimes not even when connected to a USB 2.0 port if a USB 3.0 port exists. Some people have worked around it with BIOS settings. Windows 8 and higher, Mac and Linux have not been reported to suffer the same problem. It is reported to have bugs with the Caps Lock state and the Shift keys staying active. The state should normalize by pressing the key. Kinesis has known about this bug for some time. Unfortunately, the developer of the firmware had gone out of business. This has been fixed with the latest version of the keyboard, the Advantage2, released in 2016. The keyboard has 6-key rollover over USB (excluding modifiers). If a seventh key gets pressed at the same time as six keys are held down then it will tell the host that those keys are released and only report new presses. <!-- ===History=== Some key-well circuit boards have been connected with separate socketed ribbon connectors, others being socketed directly to the controller board. The function keys have also changed. * The Model 100 has a single large circuit board in the front for both thumb-key clusters. The controller is on a separate board sandwiched underneath. * In the Model 110 the controller has moved to the thumb-keys' circuit board. * In the Model 130s, each thumb cluster is on a separate circuit board and the controller is in the back. In early Model 130's the thumb-clusters also carry the indicator LEDs but on later keyboards the LEDs are on the controller board. * The early MPC models have a separate converter board from PS/2 to ADB. * Early Kinesis Advantage use PS/2 internally with a PS/2-to-USB converter board for USB. The shift to a native USB controller is believed to have been around serial-number #50000. -->
