I supposed the honorable author was joking when claiming "The Caps Lock key shows a stylised handbag". The sign represents a stylised padlock, of course, and appears as a standard on French keyboards. (kbdfr)

Nope! I'm not joking!

The original Caps Lock on those IBM 122 key terminal keyboards indeed shows a lock, but not on the Cherry 122 key clones! It's definitely a handbag, designed by a Bauhaus designer in 1927! (7bit)
