The "Telex 270 Keyboards" refers to a range of terminal keyboards used with the Telex Terminal Communications 270 terminal family; a clone of the IBM 3270 terminal family. These keyboards use Micro Switch SD Series hall effect switches and double-shot keycaps.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Telex 270 Information Display System is a line of terminals that are software and hardware compatible with the IBM 3270 family. The styling of the displays and keyboards followed that of their IBM counterparts. The 270 was designed as a lower cost solution. The keyboards achieved lower cost by using plastic case materials and Micro Switch SD Series switches.
