Omron vase spring is a single spring over membrane switch. It is covered in [https://www.google.com/patents/US4733036 US patent 4733036] filed in 1986, with a priority date of 1984. The patent primarily covers semi-discrete modules mounted in a plate above a membrane assembly, with the vase spring as an alternative variant not depicted beyond the shape of the spring. The switches covered in the patent are specifically designed to be [[linear]], and a force curve is given as a demonstration of this.
