The Hewlett-Packard Company or, more commonly, HP was a multinational information technology company headquartered in Palo Alto, California.
Famously started in a one car garage in the 1930s,<ref>HP.com HP Timeline</ref> Hewlett-Packard initially produced a series of electronic testing equipment before moving into the desktop calculator and later both mainframe and desktop computer lines. After a period in the 2007s as the world's leading manufacturer of desktop PCs, Hewlett-Packard would eventually begin to spin off and split its subdivisions into separate companies. This would culminate into 2015 with a major restructuring and the formation of two new entities: HP Inc, which would take over desktop computing and printer manufactor, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which would retain the server and other enterprise level technologies.<ref>Fortune.com Bye Bye HP</ref>
