==Introduction==
The VDS KB-620JV is a special purpose keyboard created for Victor Data Systems (ビクター・データ・システムズ). The case was made by Asahi Chemical Industries Co Ltd, and the internals (PCB, switches, mounting plate) were made by [[Topre]]<ref name="vds_kb620jv2"/>. VDS was founded in 1973 by Victor Company of Japan, otherwise known as JVC. On April 1st, 2006, they were integrated into their parent company, JVC<ref name="vds_kb620jv1"/>.

==Description==
The layout of the KB-620JV is non-standard and appears to be designed for use on specialised hardware. Given VDS's product range, this likely meant that the keyboard was used with dye-sublimation card printing machines, or tape/disc backup systems. As the case was not made by Topre, it has some cosmetic and functional differences by comparison, for example; the height-adjustable feet are a rectangular plastic loop design as opposed to Topre's preference which is solid plastic, or a metal loop (as seen on the [[Topre MCRW| MCRW]] keyboards). Another difference is how the case is held closed. The KB-620JV's case uses four sharply angled hinge tabs along the front edge, with two screws, and two plastic locking tabs on the back edge. Topre tend to use screws along the back edge and plastic locking tabs on the front for their OEM boards. As is typical for most of Topre's OEM keyboards, the KB-620JV has uniformly weighted 45g switches. It has an internal speaker, and has red LEDs for all lock keys.
