The Canon Cat was developed by Jef Raskin, of Apple Macintosh fame. While the Canon Cat is a more powerful word processor than most, its most exciting characteristic is the utilization of a new (for the time) user interface known as the Humane Interface. Because this word processing system didn't have a mouse, it used a unique Leap function which would allow you to leap forward or back (the two keys used below the space bar). This is the Canon Cat with keyboard consisting of SMK inverse cross mount keyswitches. Below are some pics of the keyboard with SMK inverse cross mount keyswitches. The (Caps) Lock key has purple marker on the rim yet is not unique because it doesn't lock. It does, however, have an LED. ==Gallery== Pictures of the Canon Cat and keyboard. <gallery widths=250 heights=167> Canon_Cat_front_profile.jpg | Front profile Canon_Cat_screen_output.jpg | Screen output Canon_Cat_keyboard_profile.jpg | Keyboard profile Canon_Cat_key_cap_face_legends.jpg | Keycap face legends Canon_Cat_key_caps_removed.jpg | Keycaps removed Canon_Cat_key_switch.jpg | SMK inverse cross mount keyswitch Canon_Cat_Caps_Lock_key_switch.jpg | Caps lock keyswitch Canon_Cat_key_switch_and_key_cap.jpg | SMK keyswitch and keycap Canon_Cat_Caps_lock_key_switch_and_key_cap.jpg | Caps lock keyswitch and keycap Canon_Cat_double_shot_leap_close-up.jpg | Double shot Leap keycap, close up Canon_Cat_double_shot_close-up.jpg | Double shot keycap, close up </gallery> == External links == * Wikipedia — The Canon Cat computer ==References== <references> </references>
