For [[Cherry MX]] switches, the '''sticker mod''' is placing a special-purpose decal or film between the top and bottom housings.
The sticker closes the gap between parts and reduces the wobble of the top and bottom housing. Contrary to what some people believe, it does not reduce stem wobble.

In recent years, the sticker mod is now called "filming" as rubber, polycarbonate, or other films are now used in place of actual stickers. Filming switches change the sound profile of the switch and it depends on the thickness and material of the film used.

Several [[Cherry MX clone|clones of Cherry MX]] have a tighter fit from the start, obviating any perceived need for this mod on such switches.
This mod is not known to be widely used for any other type of keyboard switch.
