The '''Clear''' key erases everything on screen or in the current input field.

On [[Macintosh]], the Clear key is in the top/left corner of the [[numeric keypad]].
On USB keyboards, it overloads the [[Num lock]] key position, with the meaning depending on what kind of host it is connected to (Mac or PC).

The [[USB]] standard supports a dedicated Clear key (0x9C) but support is unusual. [[Linux]]'s USB HID-class driver even rejects keyboards that represent the key using a dedicated bit in its protocol.

In [[Unix]] terminals, the Clear Screen function is often available on Control + L.

On some vintage platforms such as [[Commodore 64]] and [[Atari ST]], the CLR key's function is found on Shift + [[Home key|Home]] (and it also moves the cursor to the home position).
