WY-30 keyboard is a detachable keyboard made for WY-30 terminal. The terminal is a low cost, entry level ASCII terminal.

Construction

This keyboard uses Cherry MX Black switches, 3 pins plate mount variant. The following image, from the WY-30 maintenance manual <ref name="WY30 Manual"/>, illustrates different parts of the keyboard, and how they are fit together. There is the presence of a steel plate, even though not depicted in the picture.

  Keyboard construction

Converting

This keyboard came with a detachable cable with RJ9 connector. The keyboard will work over Soarer's Converter. A female RJ9 4 pin head is needed for building the converter.
