The word "alphameric" is simply a less-common variant of "alphanumeric".

The keyboard arm of Alphameric was acquired by Devlin in 2004.<ref name="Devlin" /> Alphameric keyboard technology is still manufactured by Devlin as a legacy product.<ref name="priv-1" />
The remainder of Alphameric has since been acquired by OpenBet and renamed OpenBet Retail.<ref name="OpenBet" />
