The company formerly known as '''Sasse''' KG or Dr.&nbsp;Eugen Sasse GmbH originally concentrated on switches and keypads for the telecommunication industry. Presumably around 1980, they started producing switches compatible with the [[RAFI Full-Travel Keyswitch|RAFI RS]] family and [[Siemens STB]], the keycaps of which they used for their custom keyboards.<ref name="award" />, which seem to match also a cross-shaped keycaps mount.<ref name="production" /> In 1991 they introduced the "saskey" line of aluminium keyboards<ref>(Wayback Machine) Sasse &mdash; [https://web.archive.org/web/20151125165834/http://sasse-elektronik.de/saskey Produktprogramm saskey]</ref> that opened the medical engineering market to them, where currently lies their focus.
