Dell KB216 is a model of keyboard shipped by Dell with their OptiPlex computers. This version has chiclet keys.

Description[edit | edit source]

The layout is non-standard. There are two Fn keys: one between the Ctrl and Windows keys on the left, and one in place of the right Windows key. Print Screen, Scroll Lock and Pause/Break are moved to the Fn layer of Insert/Home/Page Up, freeing up those key positions for mute, reduce volume and increase volume respectively. Fn+F9–F12 provides search, previous track, play/pause and next track. Fn+F1 is sleep, and Fn+Esc is marked with a padlock.

The legends are pad printed with prominent selective image coatings, and the Fn layer legends are in bright blue ink. The top row (Esc/function keys) uses reduced size keycaps compared to the rest of the keyboard.

The Silitek version has a fairly mushy feel. There should be a second source of this model, but it has yet to be identified.
