The HG Series was introduced for a limited time to celebrate 10th anniversary of the Happy Hacking Keyboard series since the introduction in 1996. This series features a distinct machined aluminium frame made to order for the keyboard, a small wooden box containing the tools along with legs for adjusting the height of the keyboard (up to eight height levels as opposed to three), as well as laser engraving with owner's name on the back of the keyboard. In addition to all this, the HHKB Professional HG was also packaged in a distinct box that is very different from the rest of the boxes that were used in HHKB keyboards. ===HHKB Professional HG JAPAN===
In addition to the Professional HG, there's also the Professional HG JAPAN. The HG JAPAN features a wajima style lacquer resin on the (mostly) PBT keys to produce a distinct colour unique to Professional HG JAPAN along with gold dust sprinkled on top of each and every key. The HHKB Professional HG JAPAN series was made in collaboration with Toru lacquerware workshop and was said that it was "a fusion of traditional craft and IT".
