DFK191 (Asian 101 layout) and DFK192 (ISO layout) are Alps mount keyboards from Datacomp. They progressed through several different switch types and today use Datacomp switches.
Description[edit | edit source]
DFK191 and DFK192 were originally variants of the Futaba MA series–switch Datacomp DFK121, retaining DFK121's FCC ID. DFK191 and DFK192 originally used Alps SKCM White ("Version 9.0") or clicky beige SMK Alps mount switches ("Version 1.0").<ref name="DT-SMK" /> Later revisions used Alps SKBM White and Alps clone switches.<ref name="DT-switches" /> As of 2017 DFK191 is listed on the Datacomp website with Datacomp switches. DFK191 is now depicted as 104-key Asian 101 layout, with options for 104, 105 and 108 keys. The keycaps are now laser etched, and N-key rollover is available as an option. Key pitch is given as 19 mm. Whether model DFK192 is still used is not known.
The case can be dark grey or beige,<ref name="DT-beige" /> The 101-key beige version has been found with UKF DS03 double-shot keycaps.<ref name="DT-beige" /> A beige version with a DFK-191F PCB model and 1992 controller date has been found with the modified case shape with side edge steps and what appear to be Tai-Hao TI series double-shot keycaps.<ref name="DT-beige-stepped" />

DFK192 ISO German, dark grey[edit | edit source]
This example is dated from 1991 and still has the DFK121 FCC ID. The black keycaps are surface printed with thick ink. The Sung We-made PCB is model DFK-191M, no. 1633191033, version 2.4, from 1991-03-28. The controller is dated week 22 1991, and the case is dated August 1991. The switch mounting plate is poorly supported and weak, and bends downwards in places as if the switches were PCB mounted. The protocol selector switch has settings 88 (presumably Intel 8088), 286 and 30.
