RO-59 is a water-based lubricant that bonds to plastic when it dries, creating a film of PTFE ("Teflon").

The RO-59 KT variety is the most commonly used in the keyboard community, for lubing plastic sliders and rails. The KT variety was originally created for the customer Key Tronic, hence the "KT" in the name. The lubricant has a short shelf life before use.
