Mouse Systems (formerly Rodent Associates) was formed in 1982.
It was the first commercial manufacturer of computer mice, including the first mice for the IBM PC.
They were acquired by KYE Systems Corp. (owner of Genius) in 1990 but remained as a brand.
Mouse Systems are known mostly for their optical mice that required special mouse pads. Such mice were standard on workstations from Sun Microsystems.
