Introduction[edit | edit source]

The Sony NEWS NWP-411A is a Japanese layout keyboard that came with Sony NEWS (Network Engineering Workstation) workstations sold in the late 1980's to mid 1990's. It interfaces with a proprietary DE9 connector with 6 pins and has an 8-pin Mini-DIN connector on the right side for connecting a mouse.

The NWP-411A came standard with Sony NEWS machines from the NWS-800 series through to the NWS-3xxx series<ref name="FU1" />. It was released in January, 1987 with the initial release of the Sony NEWS workstations<ref name="Sony1" />.
